Leigh Douglas Johnson is an experienced restoration and preservation professional. His restoration projects have involved all aspects of historic homes, from timber frame repair to fine, hand planed interior woodwork. He worked mainly in New England from 1975 to 1997, and continues to do so often. He now designs homes in all parts of the nation. As well as a wide range of restoration projects, his work in the Northeast has included a number of antique style reproduction homes, in which the historic house types and styles have been either faithfully reproduced or the antique style has been used as the context for homes with interior concepts that depart from the historical norm. His architectural work is grounded in his own hands-on experiende with this wide range of restoration projects as well as years of studies of our Architectural heritage. His design work has included planning for restorations and reproduction of homes of all major periods, from the humble log cabin to the Southern Georgian mansion. He continues to have a strong interest in projects involving early American architecture.
