Marble Restoration

A client had what she considered stains. Her marble was actually etched. We began by honing (just like sanding). We used four grits of abrasives. I.e., 200, 400 800 and 1800 grit abrasives. It is critical that each grit of abrasive be carefully worked in a north, south and east, west direction. Between each grit, the stone is cleaned. This process removed the etching and restored the shine. Next, we polished the marble to a brilliant mirror finish. Lastly, we sealed the marble to provide some additional protection.
