Restored Residences
These projects had been painted in the recent past and the client wished to restore the woodwork back to its original finish. The paint was painstakingly removed and the woodwork was cleaned. Then we used a mineral salt to replicate 100 years of patina. This was followed by several layers of shellac, a tinted paste wood filler, more shellac, and finally two coats of tung-oil varnish. A great example of fine wood finishing was achieved. We also treated the walls with a pigmented stippled oil glaze. The results were nothing short of spectacular. The client and designer were thrilled with the final presentation.
